Arsenal Please Spare the Fans this Agony

Sometimes you have to pity Arsenal fans. When everything seems to be falling in place they suddenly stumble.

The other weekend Welbeck had revived their premier league hopes by scoring a late goal against title rivals Leicester leading to more belief that this was Arsenal’s year.

The race for this season Premier League title has been very open. Pundits and bookmakers had started to put their money on Arsenal considering Leicester and Tottenham inexperience.

But Arsenal seem to be blowing it off.
The loss to their biggest rivals, Manchester United was so disappointing to the fans if you consider the position United were in.

Missing 13 first team players and fielding a largely inexperienced side United were there for the taking.
But Arsenal did not turn up. Alexis was in Varela’s pocket from start to finish, making me start to believe Barcelona knew why they released him.

Ozil and Welbeck fought for Arsenal but just in flashes. Wenger’s decision to start with Gabriel instead of Per Mertesacker because of pace backfired. Gabriel was a sleep throughout the game.

Hope for Arsenal and its fans is that Leicester dropped points yesterday and tonight they have an easy looking fixture.

Will they continue with this heartache or can Wenger galvanize the team and give Arsenal fans something to smile about?
12 years without an EPK trophy for a team of Arsenal stature is a long time. Hope for the fans is to win their remaining games and hope Leicester and Tottenham drop points.
But that is just hope, just as they were hopeful they will get a good result against Barcelona and Manchester United.
